I have made a variety of items in order to test out my ideas on clothing worn by women of the Low Countries in the early 1500s. You’ll find a number of kirtles and gowns, as well as two-three attempts at getting the hovetcleet ‘right’, and at working out the layers on the early formal Black hoods (commonly known as French Hoods). If you start at the bottom of the page you can see how the ideas progressed. Click the “learn more” button to be taken to the project article/dress diary for each item.
