Leyden Variations – Under the bust
These two women are from biblical scenes and so their usefulness in examining the dress styles of Leyden in specific, and Holland in general, is small. This style appears to be influenced by some of the German styles in the same way that the images above were.
I have included them as a point of interest and for their potential use to a german costumer.
It is interesting that the two prints were made in the same year.
